Whose woods these are I think I know
His house is in the village, though.
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near.
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harnessbells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep.
And miles to go before sleep
And miles to go before sleep.

General meaning is tells the person (who had a long journey) who stay at nears by someone house but in outside. He just alone with his little horse, look at a man who have a little house with his woods fill up with snow, because it’s winter. That darkest evening, cold, and need some furnace heating and he makes campfire to warm his body for tonight and can continue his journey tomorrow and sleep well for only tonight in a heavy winter.

It shown on the third stanza likes “The only other sounds the sweep”, “Of easy wind and downy flake”. The tone is some expression or feeling from the pronouncing of the writer about the story of the poem. The tone is slow. It means that when the writer said that “He will not to see me stopping here”, “To watch his woods fill up with snow”. In this stanza, the writer say that when the man is waiting the person for helping him on a snowy evening. The writer tells this word by sad feeling because there is no person who helps the man in the bad condition. Then the writer has to explore his mind and soul with slow what he feel and he try to explain how he feel unhappy with his condition. It means that the writer tells how the conditions there really lonely with sounds the sweeps that make the condition become strained. It make the writer tells this stanza so slow and really smooth.

The mood is some feeling of the reader when they read the poem. The mood is influences my feel really sad because the condition of the man who search the better place for he’s taking rest by the strained condition. Absolutely, this mood is evoked the poem because when I read this poem really feel down if I am in the story of Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. The other stanza of the Stopping by Woods on Snowy Evening like “And miles to go before sleep”, “And miles to go before sleep”. In this stanza, I really feel down when he finished the long journey at the end, he must leave the little house after he get the great experience on the darkest.
