Friendship between Bruno and Shmuel in the discovery

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is written by Boyne around 1971. He has other works besides The Boy in The Striped Pajamas. There are two of eight novel, they are The Thief of Time (2000) and The Congress Rough Riders (2001). The title is when there is a little child who had a great discovery through the experience that really interested in the journey.

The theme is moral lesson that explain about the generalization of life and as the central of concept the story. The major theme is tells the important theme that become the head concept of the story. The major theme of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas is friendship between the two children who have different background in life. They are Bruno and Shmuel who have a good relationship from the first story until the end of the story. In this essay, I want to tell about friendship between Bruno and Shmuel. They are willing to sacrifice and not easily discouraged.

Firstly, friendship between Bruno and Shmuel really show the good relationship between them. They are willing to sacrifice. Based on the story, at the moment when Bruno is in gas chamber, Shmuel always besides Bruno and helping Bruno where he is in the bad condition. Secondly, Bruno is really not easily discouraged where he together his family got the bad condition with the soldiers. At this moment, there is crowded condition of Bruno together his family were faced this condition and not to be surrender.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas has the connected with the element – elements of the story that I can explain and tell. They are character, setting and plot. Then I can know and understand the story from started and finished.

The character is tells about the appearance or characteristic of someone who express themselves in the story happen. From the story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, there is one major character, he is Bruno and the other character is Shmuel, Mother, and Gretel. For the first, I want to tell about the major character. Major character is the main character who becomes the important person from started until finished in the story. In the story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Bruno is the major character because he is the important person from started until finished. Bruno was born on April 15th in 1943, he is happy and kind child. In his life, he always happy and easy goes on. He is the son of the Nazi commandant in German. When the first time, Bruno meet his new friend in Jew camp, he is really kind. He doesn’t think about the mad of someone when the first time he met. At that time, Bruno is started to make a discovery and experiences together. The other character is Shmuel is Bruno new friend who lived in Jew camp. He’s appearance really scarify face, black eyes, and used the striped pajamas. Shmuel is Bruno best friend who really friendly and enthusiasm to get the best thing in his life. They have the same ages that make their more comfort in their friendship. In fact, Bruno meet Shmuel in Jew camp, Shmuel is really open to asked when he met Bruno, he is not pity to introduce himself. Then they make a good relationship together. The character of mother is women who always beloved her child. She’s really patient to her child. In the story of The Boy in The Striped Pajamas, she always likes her husband as the commandant in the Jew camp. Gretel is pretty girl. In the story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Gretel is Bruno’s sister, she’s twelve years old. When she knows that there is a Jews, Gretel character has been change become involved, because of she know that there is some problem in the next day.

From the character that I know from the story, I can see the differences between all of characters, it shown when there is an event in every discovery. The author attitude toward his character is really tells that character itself by the event in the story. In this character, the character is really grow up from the first until the end of the story because of there is the big influences from the story happen.

The setting is tells about the time and place. In the story of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, when Bruno came to the new house in Berlin, he feel so unhappy, because of he lived in third floor. It means that, in Bruno new house, many soldiers will come to his house, he has no friend for he speak, play, and joke together. This conditions that make Bruno become boring and there is no beautiful life in Berlin. In Berlin, his house really small that make Bruno really bored and he cannot do anything what he wanted. At the same time, when Bruno and Gretel know that there is Jews that will make the bad condition. Then there is a child boy who stand of the fence, Bruno introduce himself to the boy of the fence. His name Shmuel, he is the ‘Jews’. Then Bruno’s family moved to the some place called Out –With which can say to be Auschwitz. In Out- with Bruno and Shmuel arranged their birthday party in the same age. Day by day Bruno came back to the Berlin together her mother and Gretel.

From the setting of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas is really easy to understand because of the writer tells by chronological of the story. It shown on every story the writer tells side by side of the setting from the story. The setting of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas has evoked the sense atmosphere it shown where the setting of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas that has the interested place. The place is Auswitch become Out-With this is the interested place of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas who people now.

Plot is tells about the series of event that are described in cause and effect. In the plot, there are five kinds that I want to analyze. They are exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. First is exposition. Exposition is the opening of the set the scene that tells main character, the story happen, and other background information that we must to understand. The exposition of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas is when Bruno came home from school, he knows that Maria was packing his dress, he looked so surprised. In this event, tells that exposition of the event is really explains about the character of Bruno. This event tells the exposition itself. Then I will explain about rising action. Rising action is tells the cause conflict is happen first. The rising action of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas is where Bruno comes back to Berlin. At that moment is tells about where Bruno together her mother and sister know that Bruno must wear the Striped Pajamas. This event tells the rising action itself. Besides I explain about the climax. Climax is the moment greatest of tension at which the outcome is to be decided. The climax of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas where he is in gas chamber together Shmuel. This event is really crowded where Shmuel always besides Bruno. This event tells the climax itself. After that, I will explain about falling action. Falling action is tells the anti climax of the story. The falling action of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas tells about where Bruno was died besides Shmuel. This story tells Shumel really willing to sacrifice with Bruno. This moment tells the falling action it self. The last is Resolution. Resolution is tells the event that happen in the end of the story. In the resolution of the Boy in The Striped Pajamas is Bruno’s parents who search until he’s parents will become surrender. This event tells the resolution itself.

From the plot that I analyzed, the relationship between plot and character really influences to each other. It shown, where the character showed, the plot is tells by details from the character happen in the story. Besides, the resolution and and complication really influences because of from the resolution of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas, tells the crowded event where his parent become surrender that connected in the real complication where the crowded condition of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

The book from the story of the Boy in the Striped Pajamas really shows that there is a different life between two child who have the good relationship that will give the meaningful things to our self and give the good purpose in our life by see and follow the enthusiastic of the two child.
