Key words for a good essay

An excellent essay should be composing by several important parts and steps. We also have to always grab a big attention for every single word and sentences of our essay, and how to make our essay obviously clear and make a reader easy to understand and enjoy reading it.

If people suspected that writing an essay as easy as always, they are absolutely wrong in this case. Maybe people around especially student which didn’t take English literature were thinking, what part of write something down can make a complicated problem? Or maybe an old question like, is that really hard to just write down an essay is easy like cook a noodles. Or maybe like write our life story on diaries book. It cause by a limited knowledge about make a good essay and what steps or method should we have take for making an excellent essay, not only academic essay but also non academic essay. It is quite important to learn about how to make an excellent essay for college students in every major. Because I think that we have equal final script to make an essay. So, it necessary to learn about this one thing, maybe we don’t have a capability to write in a good way for our own essay. And based on that kind of problem, I will give several important key words to make an excellent essay.

There are three key words or steps that I have got from Paragraph Power second edition’s book; there is “The topic sentence, The subject development, The summary sentence”. We can see that a whole steps have a general and common way, but it can help us more than that to keep writing an essay well.

First steps is The topic sentence, have two part of this steps, The general subject and the specific parts. We have to always remember when we start to writing, that our essay should be beginning with the topic sentence. The topic sentence can give us the general subject and the specific parts. Then, we can develop it into paragraph. For instance, if there is a sentence “Over a million people visit Hawaii each year because of its beautiful weather and wonderful scenery”. So, “Over a million people visit Hawaii each year” will become a general subject and “because of its beautiful weather and wonderful scenery” will become specific parts. From that, we also can develop that specific part into more details to make our essay completely good on the beginning steps.

Second steps are The subject development. Also have two more specific details, which is Proper organization of the subject development and Specific facts and specific examples. In these steps, we only input facts and examples for our body paragraph to make our essay can understanding clearly about what we want to tell to the reader.

Third last steps are The summary sentences. According to the book, most of summary sentences are constructed according to one of the two following methods. First method is “Repeat the main ideas of the paragraph in a new way”, and “Give a conclusion based on the information in the paragraph”. We can choose only one which we want to apply it to our essay. By repeat the main ideas of paragraph in a new way, we can explore with another own words. And by give a conclusion based on the information in the paragraph, we can put a whole content and make it into short conclusion.

Maybe if next time we are stuck to write an essay, we can open again our second term book and find out about the right steps to make an essay.
