Make a Good Descriptive Essay in Simple Ways

There are some simple ways to make your descriptive essay become good and many people will understand. These ways will not make you feel so difficult to make a great essay. You will explain your idea so easily. Descriptive essay is an essay which explains about the whole situation and describes it with words.

Before you start to write about your idea, you should think about the thesis statement and how you show your points. After you get the idea and your topic, make an affective thesis statement. Do not write ineffective statement because the reader will confuse and also your essay is becoming not structural. According to Pathways book, there are three ways to make thesis statement.

First, “an effective thesis is a precise thesis-one of that state one main idea and one that can be adequately developed, using specific details”-Pathway book. It is mean that in your thesis statement should show your detail points that you want to explain in content for example you want to write about Justin Bieber. You should write all your reasons why you like him for example, I like Justin Bieber because he really handsome, has good voice, and he also can dance, do not write I like Justin Bieber for some reasons because is not specific. Second according to Pathway book, do not use sentence “the purpose of this paper is…” or “In this paper I will discuss…” for example, In this paper I will discuss why Indonesia people like to live in Jakarta, is it wrong and the effective way is because there are so many big malls, the people are very cool, and so many public transportation are the reasons why I like live in Jakarta. You should write like that because it is the sentence that you must write not talk. Third according to Pathway book again, do not use word “good”, “bad”, “interesting”, and “nice” because it’s unclear for example, My holiday in Hong Kong was good, the effective way is the weather is cool, the city is different from Jakarta, and the stuff are very cheap, I enjoyed my holiday in Hong Kong.

You have to think how to bring the reader get in to your imagination so you should explain every each point in your content in several paragraphs very clear, for example you want to explain about the weather in Hon Kong. You can write like this, when I walked around in Hong Kong, I felt so piece because the weather is really cool. I smell very fragrant flowers on the street, my hair and my skirt was flying like model in runway, you write every feeling that out from you when you in Hong Kong and also you explain about the weather very clear.

You can take a look in Pathway book page 106 about “The Wedding”. The writer explains the situation in the church. The writer wrote that there are kids who played G.I. Joe soldiers and she explains the bride and the groom who talked about money. The writer also talked about her feeling that she really bored in this wedding ceremony. That’s the simple descriptive essay which is very clear and make the reader can imagine it.

Do not forget that beside you want to invite the reader in to your imagination but also you have to entertain the reader. Think about something funny and happy, you will get a brilliant idea to your content. According to Pathway book, don’t just use visual description but also the sense of taste, smell, and sound so reader also can feel what you feel for example you want to explain about how good chocolate. You write about your feeling when you chew the chocolate, when I open the pack of the chocolate, the smell of the chocolate it’s really glutinous in my nose. I chew my chocolate and taste of the chocolate is really sweet and really sticks with my tongue so I chew it very slowly, I smile when I chewed it because the sweet of the chocolate make me happy. The sweet is very delicious and the taste of the milk is really there…, this is making the reader want to eat chocolate soon.

According to Literary Theory from Plato to Barthes book, in Romantic period, usually the author wrote the master piece with unconscious and made them had many imaginations so the works are very beautiful because make the reader imaginative. You also can do it like them but do not use drugs or alcohol because it is dangerous.

After you make your thesis statement and content, you have to make conclusion. Make a conclusion is very easy. According to Pathway book, there are seven ways to ending your essay, for descriptive essay you can use summarizing the major points to make it easily for example about Justing Bieber. After you explain why you like him in the content, you have to summarize it, for example, because he is really cute, his voice makes me goose bumps and his move makes me want to dance the factors why so many young girls like him. It is like your thesis statement, you just paraphrase it. With this way, your ending essay is simple and clear. The reader also will join to read it.

Using affective thesis, invite the reader in to your mind, and make a simple and clear conclusion, your descriptive essay will be good and cohesive.
