Writing Is an Easy Activity

If you want to be a good writer, what will you do to achieve that? You certainly prepare your self by studying in the literature faculty. But, do you think that everyone has to study in the literature faculty if they want to be a writer and write an essay? The answer is not. Everyone can be a writer if they have a will and be determined. Here, there are some steps to write a good essay if you really want to be a good writer.

The first step, you have to think about something that will be the topic in your essay. Close your eyes, and then try to remind everything that you have experienced. Think about something that has happened to you. You can also remind what you have heard, what you have seen, and what you have felt about something happen around you.

For example, you broke up with your boyfriend or girlfriend two months ago. Try to remind what was happen to you and your couple in your happy relationship. After that, try to find out what was the problem that caused both of you decided to break up. Then, just remind everything that happened to you after the break up, like your feeling.

If you have tried to flash back to your experience in the past, now you can decide the topic of your essay. You can relate them into one topic. Try to decide one problem that you will discuss in your essay. Do not ever combine all of the problems of your topic. Because it will make your essay be in a mess. One topic example that you can take from your break up experience is ‘how to overcome the sadness after the break up’.

The second step, you have to make a draft for your essay. Draft is something like a little note that only contains the main ideas of your topic. You can write the main points of the problem in your topic. Usually the main points are formed in sentences.

You can decide some main points of the break up topic. Some examples of them: try to avoid everything about our ex-boyfriend or girlfriend, spend our time with family or friends, give attention to our hobbies, and being lived with happiness even we do not have couple anymore.

After you decide what the main points that will be discussed in your essay, you will not write anything that is not useful. You can link them into a good essay.

The third step, you can start to write an introductory paragraph. In this paragraph, you introduce the topic that you will discuss in your essay. In the first sentence you have to write your topic sentence. It contains the general idea about your topic. Then, you can develop it like you tell the reader the background why you choose the topic.

You can use many ways to begin your essay in this introductory paragraph. You can begin your essay by give a definition. Or maybe you can also tell a short story to begin your essay. You can follow those ways. It depends on you. What way that is suitable with you.

In the last or near the last sentence of the first paragraph, you have to write your thesis statement. Many people say that thesis statement is just like the topic sentence. But you have to know that they are different. Topic sentence contains the general idea about your topic. It can be the reality of the life. On the contrary, thesis statement is your opinion about your topic. It divides the main points of your essay. It is very important for your essay. If you do not put your thesis statement, you can be considered as a plagiarism of other people’s opinion.

After that, the forth step is that you have to write the body paragraph. It maybe has many paragraphs. In each paragraph, you have to explain all of the main points that you have mentioned in your thesis statement one by one. One main point maybe has some supporting ideas.

Supporting ideas help your main point be developed. It will be very strong because of the supporting ideas. Everyone who read your essay will agree with your main point. In this part, you need to have a skill to link all of your main points. You have to be able to choose sentence that you use to explain the supporting ideas. Try to not wrong to choose sentences. If you are not able, your essay will not be good to read. Every idea will be mixed each other.

The last step is that you have to write a conclusion paragraph. It is the ending of your essay. Actually it contains all of your essays, like your thesis statement, your main points, and your supporting ideas. It also contains the message of your essay.

You can write it into many ways. You can end your essay by summarizing all of the main points. You repeat them into the scope which is littler than the body paragraph. But sometimes you can only make a prediction which is related with your topic. It is also probably if you give a recommendation how to solve the problem that you have discussed in your essay. Then the message of your essay can be received easily by the reader.

Finally, after all of the steps that I have told you, it is easy to write an essay right? You can follow them. You do not really have to study in the literature faculty only because you want to write an essay. You can do it by your self. Remember, you have to be your self because your writing reflects you. Your writing contains your ideas, your feeling, even your experiences. You have to be confident that you are going to be a good writer. So, try to be focus on what will you write and give good message for your reader by your writing.
